Visual Check Btr does not seem to work with Pervasive 9 (9.50.77.002) but does work fine with Pervasive 8.5, will this be looked into?

I have a number of tables that have a index/data file inconsistancy, is there any information around about how this type of situation could occur?

I just tested and think I know the problem.  In PSQL v9, the default setting for "Embedded Spaces" was changed and could cause some applications (including Visual CheckBtr) to return a status 11.  A temporary workaround would be to disable the "Embedded Spaces" setting.

I will be working on an update to Visual CheckBtr as well.

Thanks for that, works a treat.

It does raise one question on how this situation could occur, it was my understanding that this sort of situation could not occur as with btrieve you pass a data block and the engine builds the indexes from that?

I can rebuild the data file using butil -recover/butil -load which corrects the problem (as it rebuilds the indexes) but the problem seems to be occuring in a number of sites on a semi-regular occasion.

Is my understanding correct here?

PS - The rebuild DLL also has the problem with the embedded spaces
