Hi

I have downloaded an application from the internet that uses database file (.db file) and work with pervasive-sql.

I have bought the developers (.ddf files from the same compnay) and also have pervasive-sql installed.

what do I want to do.....

when I add a record to pervasive -sql table (by hand) , I can not recall tha record in application.

It gives me the following error.

Btrieve - Requested key not found.

what its tell me that when I add recoed by hand, It does not update data files (.db file) and my application downloaded from the internet linked with data files

Is ther any way to update data files (.db files) or update index of the data file from Visual Basic code or any other way.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Thanks in advance

What do you mean "by hand"?  Are you using the Pervasive Control Center or your own application? Are you getting any messages or return values?  If so, what are they?

There are several ways to update/insert records through Visual Basic.  You can use the Btrieve API, ODBC, OLEDB, ActiveX controls.  How you do insert/update records depends on which method you use.  For example, in Btrieve you would use the Update opcode and specify the databuffer with the updated record.  For ODBC (or OLEDB), you would use an UPDATE SQL statement.
