We are running an MMIS application and noticing (by way of the Pervasive Monitor version 7.90.0 Build 230) that on some "idle" workstations occasionally, the Cache Accesses are incrementing at an incredible rate - about 3,000 per second. I am trying to track down from the application what might be causing that but wondered if anybody had ever seen that
Cache accesses are actually a good thing. It means that the PSQL engine isn't having to read from the disk.
As far as finding which application is causing this, it's probably the MMIS application. When you see this "idle" user and the increase in cache accesses, you should be able to see which file(s) the user has handles for. This might give you a clue as to which application it is.
