I have a program to rebuild all of my files within vb6. After the rebuild is finished, I remove the old file and rename the rebuilt one to the original name. My database has 48 files. Certain files (and I am not sure why these particular ones) cause VB to crash with the infamous send/don't send message.
Even if I rebuild only the "bad" files, VB crashes.
I have had this happen with both versions 8 and 9 of pervasive.
A few questions: - At what point during your process does VB hang? - How big are the "bad" files? - Are there "good" files that are bigger that don't crash VB? - Is there something common to the bad files (all have variable length records, all use record compression, etc)? - Is anyone else using the files while you rebuild them?
